What's actually on the HSK test?

The current HSK exam has a listening section and a reading section at every level, with a writing section added from HSK 3 upward. How is the HSK scored, and what counts as a pass?

At HSK 1 and 2, sections are added together and 120 out of 200 is a pass; from HSK 3 up it is 180 out of 300 (60% either way) — a strong section can offset a weaker one, with no separate per-section minimum.
