Which apps teach HSK 3.0? An updated list
Few apps teach the new HSK 3.0 bands as a full course yet. As of October 2026, HSK University teaches HSK 3.0 Bands 1–3 as complete courses with lessons, grammar and flashcards (we make it, so weigh that); its mock exams and its HSK 4 and 5 courses still follow HSK 2.0. HSKGo, the official HSK app, covers the first HSK 3.0 levels, and Migii HSK says HSK 3.0 is now available. Several apps support HSK 3.0 in one part of studying: HSKLord, Hack Chinese and Skritter have HSK 3.0 word lists, and hskmocktest.com and HSK Mock offer HSK 3.0 mock tests for levels 1–9. SuperTest (HSK Online), which advertises over 300,000 practice questions, still lists only HSK 1–6, HelloChinese's main course follows the older HSK guidelines, and Duolingo is not organised by HSK level. HSK 3.0 exams start worldwide on December 13, 2026, so check which version your sitting uses.
Why HSK 3.0 support matters
HSK 3.0 is the new version of the Chinese proficiency exam. It replaces the six levels of HSK 2.0 with nine levels in three stages (elementary, intermediate and advanced), and its word list is much larger: 11,092 words across all nine levels under the official standard (GF 0025-2021). Words and grammar that used to sit at one level now sit at another, so studying from an HSK 2.0 list for an HSK 3.0 paper means learning some of the wrong things.
Chinese Testing International has announced the worldwide launch of HSK 3.0 for December 13, 2026, and HSK 2.0 is being phased out. The right app depends on which paper you will sit, so check with your test centre, or with Chinese Testing International, before you pick. Our HSK 3.0 guide explains what changed.
The HSK 3.0 app tracker

How to study for HSK 3.0 today
- Bands 1–3: full HSK 3.0 courses exist, so use one. HSK University teaches Bands 1–3 as complete courses and HSKGo, the official app, covers the first levels; add a word-list app such as HSKLord if vocabulary is your weak spot, and an HSK 3.0 mock test before the exam.
- Bands 4–6: few full courses follow the new bands yet. Combine an HSK 3.0 word list (HSKLord, Hack Chinese or Skritter) with HSK 3.0 mock tests (hskmocktest.com or HSK Mock), and use an HSK 4–5 course for the grammar and reading practice that carries over.
- Bands 7–9: advanced learners mostly combine word lists, mock tests and real reading. Chinese Zero to Hero has a dedicated 7–9 course.
- Sitting HSK 2.0 before the switch: if your sitting is still HSK 2.0, a 2.0 course such as HSK University's HSK 4 and 5, its mock exams, SuperTest or Coursera still fits.
